Random name picker
A random name picker chooses one or more names from a list with equal odds. Paste one name per line, remove duplicates, choose how many winners and backups you need, and start a full-screen reveal. The winner is fixed by a cryptographic seed before the animation starts, and anyone can verify it afterwards.

Why you can trust the result
The list is fingerprinted and stored before our server issues the random seed, so nobody can change the list after seeing the seed. Every draw gets a public result page that anyone can recompute.
How the draw worksRandom name picker questions
Is the random name picker really random?
Yes. Winners come from a SHA-256 based random stream seeded with 32 bytes that our server issues only after your list's fingerprint is stored. Rejection sampling removes modulo bias, and the same list and seed always give the same winners, so the draw can be re-checked.
How many names can I paste?
There is no fixed limit on the number of names. A list of 100,000 entries draws in well under a second in a modern browser.
Are duplicate names removed?
By default, yes. Duplicates are matched case-insensitively, so “Alice” and “alice” count once. You can switch this off if repeat entries are intentional.
Do I need an account?
No. The picker is free and works without sign-up, and your names stay in your browser.
